How Botox® Cosmetic Works
A combination of factors can cause facial lines, not just the cellular changes that may occur, or reduction of collagen, or damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines.
It works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults to help them look visibly smoother.
Your injector will inject the facial muscles to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of the frown lines between your brows, your crow’s feet lines, and your forehead lines. Some patients receiving cosmetic injections report the injections feel like a pinch.
You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of the facial lines within 24 to 48 hours, with results lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines in adults. This is not a permanent solution. If you discontinue service, the moderate to severe frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines will gradually return.

Frequently Asked Questions
Injectables are extremely safe if done by Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Physician Assistants like those that inject at dermani MEDSPA®. Our injectors are trained directly by the team at Allergan.
They will last approximately 3-4 months until another injection is needed. Results will vary from person to person. Our membership program is geared to coincide with this timing, offering the best value with no sign up or hidden fees. Simply pay $45/month and every dollar you pay can be used towards services at the membership rates.
Your session will last approximately 30 minutes. Your injection will feel like a slight prick, however our injectors are highly trained to give you the best experience possible. While you may start to see results after 2-5 days, it typically takes about 1-2 weeks for the full effects of your cosmetic injections to completely set in.
Wrinkles are caused by muscles under the skin contracting. It will relax the muscles in the injected area. Please note that stagnant lines (facial lines that are present without muscle movement) take multiple sessions to treat, so plan on 6-12 months of consistent Botox® Cosmetic injections for optimal improvement in those lines. While your muscles are “under the influence” of cosmetic injections, we highly recommend receiving our Skin Rejuvenation services. This will maximize the effects.
The amount of units needed is highly customized on a client-by-client basis, depending on the severity of the facial lines, your desired results, etc. We require a FREE consultation before your first Botox appointment so that one of our highly trained injectors can discuss a service plan and units needed with you.
In order to ensure that your injection units set into your muscles correctly, you must wait 1-2 weeks before receiving any of these types of aesthetic services.
Bruising is extremely common and can last up to two weeks after the injection, so make sure to plan your appointment 2-4 weeks before any important events. Short-term side effects may include discomfort, bruising, redness, or irritation at the injection site. Some clients experience a mild headache. Make sure to avoid NSAIDS (i.e. ibuprofen), Aspirin (if medically able), alcohol , Vitamin E, and fish oil for 24-72 hours prior to and after injections. If injections are started at the first signs of aging, it will prevent future lines and wrinkles from setting in with continued service. While it may soften your wrinkles and facial lines over time, it may not completely reverse the fine lines and wrinkles you already have.
It is impossible to predict how many units you may require in the future based on your current amount of injected units. Like any prescription medication, your dose may increase or decrease based on individual factors
No! You do not have to continue service forever, but if you are looking to achieve optimal results for your future, it is recommended that you make your appointments a routine. Consistent service will lead to consistent results.
