If this is your first time scheduling a dermaplane facial, it’s only natural to have questions! Many people receive dermaplaning once per month or in conjunction with another service.
Dermaplaning can be done on almost any part of the body. It is typically done on the face and neck. Please ask your esthetician about any areas you would like to have dermaplaning and they can guide you on the proper session for each area.
Your dermaplaning session will last approximately 30 minutes. You will lay back and the esthetician will perform the dermaplaning procedure using a professional grade sterile scalpel.

It’s common for your skin to feel sensitive or irritated after your dermaplane facial, so we suggest allowing it time to rest and recover before washing it.
We usually tell our clients to wait at least four hours following their treatment. When you do decide to wash your face, it’s important to use a gentle cleanser and avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive washcloths and exfoliants.
Your service provider will ensure you have proper aftercare instructions for taking care of your skin post-treatment.
Your skin may be sensitive and prone to irritation following your treatment, so we recommend letting your skin breathe and heal without any makeup on.
It’s best to wait at least 24 hours before putting on makeup to help prevent breakouts and infections. When applying the makeup, use gentle sponges and brushes to avoid inflaming your skin.
The average dermaplane facial takes around 30 minutes. During this time, your service provider will review the procedure with you and then gently wash and dry your face to prepare your skin for the treatment. Next, they’ll use a scalpel to remove the top layer of skin.
Once they’ve completed the facial, they’ll provide you with aftercare instructions.
