How often should I get Dermaplaning?

Many people receive dermaplaning once per month or in conjunction with another service.

What areas can be targeted with Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning can be done on almost any part of the body. It is typically done on the face and neck. Please ask your esthetician about any areas you would like to have dermaplaning and they can guide you on the proper session for each area.

What can I expect during my Dermaplaning session?

Your dermaplaning session will last approximately 30 minutes. You will lay back and the esthetician will perform the dermaplaning procedure using a professional grade sterile scalpel.

How long after dermaplaning can I wash my face?

After your dermaplaning treatment, your skin may feel sensitive and prone to irritation. Therefore, we recommend allowing your skin at least four hours to rest and recover from the treatment.


When you eventually wash your face, use a gentle cleanser and warm water. Also, avoid using harsh products, like exfoliants, for at least two weeks.

If you have questions about caring for your skin after your treatment, your service provider will be happy to answer them for you.

How soon after dermaplaning can I wear makeup?

After your session, you’ll want to avoid doing anything to your face that could cause breakouts or infections, such as wearing makeup. We suggest waiting at least 24 hours before applying makeup so that you can give your skin time to heal and recover from the treatment.


When you apply makeup after the recommended healing period, use gentle products and avoid anything that may irritate your skin, such as abrasive makeup brushes.

How long does a dermaplane facial take?

The good news is that dermaplane facials don’t take long at all! The average treatment lasts just 20 to 30 minutes. During that time, your service provider will cleanse your face, dry it, and then gently run the scalpel over your skin. After completing the session, they’ll provide you with aftercare instructions and answer all your questions.
