Microneedling is a collagen induction therapy (CIT) technique that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny “micro needles” to trigger the production of collagen and elastin. Microneedling causes the skin to plump and thicken, which reduces the appearance of scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, and more.
What Does Microneedling Treat:
Microneedling is good for reducing scars, stretch marks, pigmentation, and wrinkles. It can be done just about anywhere the skin is affected. The treatment can be thought of as an excellent skin resurfacer.
What Must Be Done Before A Microneedling Treatment:
A numbing cream must be applied 30 minutes before microneedling can begin. Hyaluronic Acid Serum is also needled into the skin to help further promote collagen production.
When Will You See Results:
There will be improvement after the first or second treatment. There needs to be about three weeks in between each treatment in order to give the skin time to heal.
How Long Is the Downtime:
There will be a small amount of bleeding right after the treatment. There will also some temporary redness.
What Is the Post Treatment Care:
Hyaluronic acid should continue to be applied after the treatment to rebuild moisture and repair the skin. A gentle cleaner, moisturizer and a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 is recommended.
